Tip 1: Take a Diagnostic and Own Your Data

Tip 4: Learn Desmos Inside and Out

The SAT provides an embedded Desmos graphing calculator for Math. Practice graphing equations, checking intersections for systems, and using tables to test a relationship. Use College Board’s official practice environment so the controls you rehearse are the controls you will see on test day.

Use Desmos to verify a setup or explore a graph; do not open it automatically for one-step arithmetic that you can do accurately faster.

Tip 5: Create a Personal Formula Sheet

The SAT provides some formulas, but not all of them. Create your own sheet of formulas, theorems, and rules that you personally struggle with. Is it the quadratic formula? Distance formula? Exponent rules? Write them all down with one example for each. Review this sheet for 5 minutes every morning.

By day 30, you won't need to look it up anymore—it will be in your head.

Doing 50 problems and ignoring your mistakes will not improve your score. Doing 20 problems and reviewing every single one will. Spend at least as much time reviewing as you spend solving.
