About the SAT Math and what to do after this result
The digital SAT Math section covers four content domains: Algebra, Advanced Math, Problem-Solving and Data Analysis, and Geometry and Trigonometry. It is 44 questions in 70 minutes, delivered as two 35-minute adaptive modules — about 95 seconds per question, roughly a third more time than the Reading and Writing section allows. A calculator is permitted throughout, and Bluebook provides a built-in Desmos calculator with graphing and scientific modes; the separate no-calculator portion belonged to the retired paper SAT and no longer exists. Most questions are multiple choice, with some requiring you to enter the answer rather than select it. Math is scored 200 to 800 within a 400 to 1600 total. Because the first module carries a broad mix of difficulty and determines whether the second module is harder or easier, a careless start narrows the score available to you later. Preparation is most effective when it targets setup and translation rather than raw speed, and when it uses official College Board materials in Bluebook itself.
